Heard Mr. A.M Barbhuiya, learned counsel for the petitioner. Also heard Ms. K Das, learned Standing counsel, Department of School Education appearing for respondent No. 1, 5 & 6 and Ms. M Bhattacharjee, learned Addl. Senior Government advocate appearing for respondent No. 2, 3 & 4. 2. The petitioner, by way of instituting the present writ petition, has prayed for a direction upon the respondent authorities for consideration of his case for appointment on compassionate grounds. 3. The father of the petitioner, while working as an Assistant Teacher at No. 74 Kodomtola L.P School, Cachar, had died in harness on 22.08.2014. At the time of death of his father, the petitioner was admittedly a minor. The petitioner, on reaching the age of majority, had submitted his application for consideration of his case for appointment on compassionate grounds, on 20.05.2018. The said application was considered by the jurisdictional District Level Committee (D.L.C) in its meeting held on 19.09.2023 and a recommendation, favorable to the petitioner, came to be made. However, when the case of the petitioner was placed before the State Level Committee (S.L.C), the same was considered by the Committee in its meeting held on 26.08.2022 and considering the delay Page No.# 3/3 occasioning in submission of application by the petitioner and/or his family members in the matter, pursuant to the date of death of the father of the petitioner, proceeded to reject the case of the applicant for appointment on compassionate grounds. 4. The said decision of the State Level Committee (S.L.C) arrived at in its meeting held on 26.08.2022, with regard to the claim made by the petitioner for appointment on compassionate grounds, however, was not challenged in the meantime, before instituting the present proceedings on 17.12.2025. 5. Posed with the above situation, Mr. A.M Barbhuiya, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that he be permitted to withdraw the present writ petition. 6. Prayer is not objected to by the learned counsel for the respondents. 7. Accordingly, the present Writ Petition stands dismissed on withdrawal. JUDGE Comparing Assistant
