Sr. No.04 IN THE HIGH COURT OF JAMMU & KASHMIR AND LADAKH AT SRINAGAR WP(C) 747/2026, CM(1907/2026) BILAL AHMED SHEIKH AND OTHERS …Petitioner(s)/appellant(s) Through: Mr. S. N. Ratanpuri, Advocate Vs. GOVERNMENT OF J AND K AND OTHERS ...Respondent(s) Through: Mr. Mohsin Qadri, Sr. AAG & Ms. Maha Majeed, Assisting Counsel CORAM: HON’BLE THE CHIEF JUSTICE HON’BLE MR. JUSTICE RAJNESH OSWAL, JUDGE O R D E R 20-05-2026 Pursuant to our order dated April 21, 2026, Senior Superintendent of Police, Ganderbal (Respondent No. 04) had joined the proceedings online. And, we had heard the officer at length and the proceedings were deferred to enable him to furnish a specific affidavit indicating the steps that have been initiated to address the concerns/grievances set out in the petition. Accordingly, an affidavit dated 19.05.2026 has since been filed. Mr. Mohsin Qadri, learned senior AAG submits that the authorities have, in fact, initiated a comprehensive process to conclusively address every possible concern that is sought to be made in the petition. And, in case the petitioner has any other suggestions to make, he is at liberty to submit those to the competent authority, which would also be considered/examined. Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that in the wake of the stand set out in the affidavit referred to above, nothing substantive survives in the petition and the same be disposed of as having rendered infructuous. Ordered accordingly. (RAJNESH OSWAL) (ARUN PALLI) JUDGE CHIEF JUSTICE SRINAGAR 20-05-2026 Shameem H Shameem Hamid Mir 2026.05.21 16:25 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document
