Hon’ble Mr. Justice Amitendra Kishore Prasad Order on Board 25/03/2026
1. The present MCC has been filed seeking extension of time to comply with the order dated 16.12.2025 passed by this Court in WPS No.6161 of 2023 (Ramcharan Meshram vs. State of Chhattisgarh and Others). 2. Vide order dated 16.12.2025, this Court had directed the applicant authorities to conclude the departmental enquiry pending against the respondent herein pursuant to the order dated 08.12.2025 passed by the Under Secretary, Department of Climate change. Keeping in view of the fact that respondent herein had already retired from the service, the said enquiry was directed to be completed within 3 months from the date of receipt of copy of order dated 16.12.2025. The said enquiry could not be completed within the period of 3 months. Hence this MCC. 3. Learned counsel for the applicants submits that the State authorities have immediately taken action on the matter pursuant to the order dated 16.12.2025 passed by this Court. In the departmental enquiry against the respondent, out of 14 witnesses, the statements of 3 witnesses have already been recorded and one witness has expired. He submits that this MCC may be allowed and further 3 months time may be granted to comply with the order dated 16.12.2025 passed by this Court. 4.
It appears that the time period of 3 months granted to the applicants to conclude the departmental enquiry against the respondent has elapsed, having so the departmental enquiry has not been concluded. Upon
3 considering the submission made by counsel for the applicants, this Court deems it appropriate to grant further time of two months from the date of receipt of copy of this order to applicants to comply with the order dated 16.12.2025 passed in WPS No.6161 of 2023. Ordered accordingly. 5. Thus, the MCC is partly allowed. Sd/-
