Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that the petitioner was beaten up by the police officials-respondents No.6 to 8 on 29.01.2026 for no reasons whatsoever. He further contends that the petitioner moved a complaint against the aforementioned officials, but no action has been taken so far. Therefore, he prays that directions be issued to respondents No.2 and 3 to conduct a proper inquiry into the matter. Learned State Counsel appearing on behalf of the official respondents, on the other hand, filed reply dated 22.03.2026 by way of an affidavit duly sworn by Satvir Singh, PPS, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sub Division Barnala, District Barnala. While referring to the said reply, he contends that the MLR of the petitioner shows no external injury and the X-ray report indicates no bony injury. The final medical opinion categorizes the injury(ies) as simple in nature with no definite acts attributable to any alleged assault. He further contends that the medical record conclusively denies the claim of the petitioner regarding physical assault. The Investigating Agency went to the house of the petitioner, but the neighbourers informed that the petitioner alongwith his family members have moved to Madhya Pradesh. Hence, the present petition is liable to be dismissed.
