The petitioner, above-named, who is in custody in connection with Chhatarpur [Palamau] P.S. Case No. 187 of 2024 for the offence registered under Sections 308(3), 308(4) of the BNS, 2023 and Section 17 of the C.L.A. Act has prayed for regular bail. As per the prosecution case, the informant who had received a contract for construction of library under Chhatarpur Block, received extortionist demand from two different Mobile numbers purported to be made by TPC extremists. He was threatened that if the demand was not fulfilled, he will be done away with. It is submitted by the learned counsel on behalf of petitioner that there is no legal evidence against him to with regard to the alleged offence. Learned A.P.P. for the State has opposed the prayer for bail. It is submitted that the petitioner is involved in offence of similar nature and has criminal antecedent of being involved in four other cases. Considering the plea that save and except, the confessional statement of the co-accused, there is no other material to connect him to the alleged offence, the bail application is allowed. Accordingly, the above-named petitioner is directed to be released on bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs.25,000/-(Twenty-Five Thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of the Court below.
