SI Naveen Kumar. CORAM: HON’BLE MR. JUSTICE PRATEEK JALAN O R D E R % 07.07.2026 1. The petitioners are the father-in-law and sister-in-law of respondent No. 2 – complainant. They assail an order dated 24.01.2026, by which the Trial Court took cognizance of offences punishable under Sections 498A/406/34 of the Indian Penal Code, 1860, in connection with FIR No. 238/2022 dated 11.02.2022, registered at Police Station Mandawali Fazal Pur, District East, Delhi. They also seek quashing of the said FIR, alongwith all consequential proceedings arising therefrom. 2. After some arguments, Mr. Ashutosh Thakur, learned counsel for the petitioners, seeks permission to withdraw this petition, without prejudice to the rights and contentions of the petitioners before the Trial Court, including at the stage of arguments on charge and to seek discharge. Mr. Thakur also submits that, as the proceedings arise out of a familial relationship, the petitioners would like to make an attempt to resolve the matter mutually with respondent No. 2. He seeks a reference to mediation for this purpose. The petitioners may make this request before the Trial Court, where all the parties, including the parties to the marriage, will be represented. 4. The petition, alongwith pending applications, is dismissed as withdrawn in terms of the above submissions. 5. It is made clear that this Court has not made any observations on the merits of the case, and all rights and contentions of the parties are left open for adjudication before the Trial Court.
