JUSTICE B M SHYAM PRASAD ORAL ORDER The petitioners are over 60 and 70 years respectively and their cause for the present petition is in the allegation that their daughter-in-law [the fifth respondent], who is supported by her brother and mother [the fourth and sixth respondents], has trespassed into their property and threatened them bringing them under duress on the ground that their son, who is married to the fifth respondent, has failed in his matrimonial obligations. This Court has called upon the learned Additional Government Advocate to secure instructions on whether the jurisdictional police [the third respondent] has taken any action on the information that the petitioners could have filed against the fourth to sixth respondents. On 30.08.2025, the learned Additional Government - 5 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:10755 WP No. 13425 of 2025 Advocate has placed on record certain documents to support the assertion that upon receipt of the information, the jurisdictional police have called the fourth to sixth respondents and recorded their statement and that the petitioners have been issued with the endorsement stating that these respondents have agreed not to disturb them. This Court has also referred the parties to mediation but that has come to a naught. This Court is not persuaded to grant any relief to the petitioners in this case with the jurisdictional police placing on record the statement as recorded by them to demonstrate that the fourth to sixth respondents have denied all allegations and have even given an assurance that they do not propose to howsoever interfere with the petitioners' life. As such, the petition stands disposed of but observing that if there is any further information about a culpable conduct, the jurisdictional police shall act - 6 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:10755 WP No. 13425 of 2025 accordingly uninfluenced by the disposal of this petition.
