JUSTICE YARENJUNGLA LONGKUMER ORDER Date : 28.07.2026 The instant application has been preferred by the Applicant, who is the Page No.# 4/5 Petitioner in WP(C)/114/2025 praying for impleadment of the Deputy Commissioner, Chumoukedima as Respondent No. 8 in the connected writ petition stated above. 2. Heard learned counsel for the Applicant/Petitioner, Mr. Moa Jamir. The instant application has been preferred by the Applicant/Petitioner stating that the aforementioned WP(C)/114/2025 has been filed by the Applicant/Petitioner seeking appropriate relief pertaining to payment of rent with interest and payment of land compensation in respect of land occupied by the Assam Rifles. 3. On 21.07.2026, the learned Government Advocate appearing on behalf of the Respondent Nos. 5, 6 and 7 had placed a letter before this Court issued by the Respondent No. 7 wherein it has been stated that the land occupied by the Assam Rifles Training Centre falls within the jurisdiction of Chumoukedima District and not within Dimapur District. In view of the letter written by the Deputy Commissioner, Dimapur produced by the learned Government Advocate, the learned counsel for the Applicant/Petitioner submits that it has become necessary to implead the Deputy Commissioner, Chumoukedima, District as a necessary party in WP(C)/114/2025. Hence the present application. 4. In view of the pleadings made in the application herein, the prayer is allowed. 5. The Petitioner is allowed to implead the Deputy Commissioner, Chumoukedima District as Respondent No. 8 in WP(C)/114/2025. The learned counsel for the Applicant/Petitioner shall file the appropriate Page No.# 5/5 amended cause title in the writ petition. 6. The learned Government Advocate, Mr. E. Thiba Phom submits that he will accept notice on behalf of the newly impleaded Respondent No. 8. 7. The learned counsel for the Applicant/Petitioner shall supply extra copies of the petition on the learned Government Advocate for doing the needful. 8. Application stands allowed.
