The petitioners are an accused in connection with Ketar P.S. Case No. 68 of 2025. The daughter of the informant was married to the petitioner no. 2 in the year 2023. It has been alleged that there was a demand of Rs. 1 lakh cash and a motorcycle and on non- fulfillment of the said demand, the daughter of the informant was subjected to torture. On the date of occurrence, the daughter of the informant was given poison which resulted in her death. It has been submitted by learned counsel for the petitioners that the petitioner no. 1 is the mother-in-law of the deceased, while the petitioner no. 2 is her husband. Learned counsel submits that the petitioners are in custody since 04.10.2025. Learned A.P.P. has opposed the prayer for bail of the petitioners It appears from the post-mortem report that some ante-mortem injuries were found on the person of the deceased. On consideration of the aforesaid fact that the petitioner no. 2 is the husband of the deceased, I am not -1- inclined to grant bail to him. His prayer for bail is hereby rejected. However, so far as the petitioner no. 1 is concerned, she is the mother-in-law of the deceased and, therefore, the petitioner no. 1 is directed to be released on bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs.10,000/-(Ten thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of learned Judicial Magistrate, 1st Class, Nagar Untari, Garhwa in connection with Ketar P.S.
