Advocate for the Respondent : Mr J C Lalnunsanga BEFORE HON’BLE MR. JUSTICE MICHAEL ZOTHANKHUMA O R D E R 27.07.2026 Heard Mr. J.C. Lalnunsanga, learned counsel for the respondent nos.1 & 2. The petitioners herein are all working as Assistant Professors in Pachunga University College and they have been appointed as Team Leader of Home Voting Team or as a Presiding Officer for the upcoming election to the Aizawl Municipal Corporation (AMC) 2026, which according to them is not commensurate to their rank and status. They contended that instead of being Page No.# 3/3 appointed as Team Leader or as a Presiding Officer, they should have been appointed as Micro Observer, Additional Micro Observer or Master Trainers etc. It has been stated at the bar that in the meantime, elections to the AMC 2026 has concluded on 27.04.2026. On perusing the appointment orders issued to the petitioners, it is seen that they have all been appointed in relation to the General Elections to the AMC 2026. As the said election has concluded, there is nothing remaining in the present petition. The writ petition is accordingly dismissed, as infructuous. JUDGE Comparing Assistant
