Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that the petitioners were appointed as Swachchhata Doot workers in terms of Nirmal Bharat Abhijan guidelines of Government of India vide notice memo dated 18th October, 2012. Despite performing duties regularly, their salary was stopped on and from the month of March, 2015. The petitioners submitted several representations before the authority for payment of their arrear salary as well as other service benefits but to no effect. A further representation was submitted by the petitioners before the concerned authority on 1st August, 2024 which has also not been considered. The petitioners seek consideration of the same. Upon consideration of the submission made on behalf of the parties, the Block Development Officer, Bagdah, North 24 Parganas, being the 8th respondent herein, is directed to consider and dispose of the representation submitted by the petitioners dated 1st August, 2024 within eight weeks from the date of communication of the order upon granting reasonable opportunity of hearing to all concerned including the 2 petitioners/their authorised representative, in accordance with law. The decision taken by the authority shall be communicated to the parties within a week thereof. The writ petition is accordingly disposed of. There shall however, be no order as to costs. Since no affidavit is invited, the allegations contained in the petition are deemed not to have been admitted.
