The present Writ Petition is filed questioning the action of the respondents in not releasing financial assistance of Rs.10,00,000/- (Rupees Ten Lakhs Only), sanctioned to the petitioner’s son under the ‘Videshi Vidya Deevana’ Scheme vide application No.OV2018119470, dated 06.01.2019, as illegal and arbitrary. 2. The learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner is the father of Kolli Venkata Nrusimha Sai Deepak, who is presently residing in the USA. As the petitioner’s son is presently residing in the USA, the petitioner, being his father, has filed the present writ petition. 3. The petitioner’s son had applied for financial assistance under the ‘Videshi Vidya Deevana’ Scheme, and was sanctioned on 06.01.2019 and the same was allotted with Application I.D.No.OV2018119470. After due verification, respondent No.4 sanctioned Rs.10,00,000/- (Rupees Ten Lakhs only) in favour of the petitioner’s son for pursuing a post-graduation course in Metallic Materials Technology at Technische Universitat Bergakademie Freiberg, Germany. Though, the Petitioner’s son had completed his Course, the financial assistance as promised to the petitioner’s son was not disbursed. Hence, the present Writ Petition is filed. 4 3. The learned Assistant Government Pleader for Respondents submits that the application of the Petitioner’s son would be considered and amount would be sanctioned, subject to the Petitioner’s son is within the conditions specified, for release of the amounts. 4. Considering the submissions, this Writ Petition is disposed of, with the following directions:- (i) The Respondents are directed to examine the claim of the Petitioner’s son within a period of six (06) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. (ii) In the event, the claim of the Petitioner is held to be in order, the Respondents are directed to release the amounts to the Petitioner’s son within a further period of eight (08) weeks. There shall be no order as to costs.
