Direct respondent No.3 to consider the application of the petitioner dated 13-11-2001 produced at Annexure-A seeking license for establishing sawmill in land bearing Sy.No.48/B situated at Mooganakoppalu Village, Malavalli Taluk, Mandya District. B. Direct respondent No.2 forthwith grant license for establishing a sawmill in land bearing Sy.No.48/B situated at Mooganakoppalu Village, Malavalli Taluk, Mandya District pursuance to the application filed by the petitioner dated 13-11-2001 produced at Annexure-A. C. Issue such other appropriate writ or orders or directions as this Hon'ble Court deems fit to meet to the end of justice." 2. The petitioner is aggrieved by the inaction on the part of the respondents in not considering the petitioner’s application seeking grant of licence for - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:14603 WP No. 2867 of 2026 establishing a sawmill in land bearing No.48/B situated at Mooganakoppalu Village, Malavalli Taluk, Mandya District. 3. Learned Additional Government Advocate, on instructions, submits that the State Level Committee has been constituted for the purpose of considering applications for establishment of sawmills. It is submitted that the Committee is presently in the process of securing a wood availability report across the State and only upon receipt of the said report would the applications of the petitioner and other similarly placed applicants be taken up for consideration. 4. In light of the submission made and having regard to the fact that the Committee is awaiting the wood availability report, this Court deems it appropriate to dispose of the petition with a direction to the concerned authority to consider the petitioner’s application in accordance with law after securing the wood availability report and take appropriate decision thereon. - 5 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:14603 WP No. 2867 of 2026 5.
