Prayer in this writ petition is as under:
“to issue a Writ of Mandamus or any other appropriate writ, order or direction declaring that the continued inaction of the Respondents in not conducting elections to Srikalahasti Municipality, Chittoor District, Andhra Pradesh, since the expiry of the five year constitutional term in March-April 2019 is unconstitutional, illegal, arbitrary and in gross violation of Article 243U1 and Article 243U1a of the Constitution of India and Section 36 and Section 26A of the Andhra Pradesh Municipalities Act 1965 and consequently direct the Respondents to forthwith complete all consequential and mandatory preparatory steps including ward bifurcation / delimitation reservation of wards for Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Backward Classes and women preparation and finalization of electoral rolls and thereafter issue election notification and conduct and complete elections to the entire Srikalahasti Municipality including the merged villages of Edulagunta Saibaba Nagar,

Vaddikandriga, Ramachandrapuram and LIC Colony of thottambedu, G.P. Dommarapalem village of Udamalapadu, G.P. Narayanapura, T.M.V. Kandriga, Aravakothuru and Urandhurau within a time frame to be fixed by this Hon’ble Court.”
2. Learned Advocate General submits that, as W.P.No.17721 of 2021 was withdrawn on 07.01.2026, all statutory steps subject to applicable law shall be taken by competent authority and State Election Commission.
3. In view of the above, learned counsel for petitioner submits that the grievance as expressed does not subsist, therefore, proceedings in this writ petition may be closed.
4. Ordered accordingly. No costs.
Consequently, connected miscellaneous applications, if any, shall stand
disposed of.
