THIS PETITION, COMING ON FOR ADMISSION, THIS DAY, ORDER WAS MADE THEREIN AS UNDER: CORAM: HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE M.NAGAPRASANNA ORAL ORDER Petitioner is before this Court calling in question proceedings in C.C.No.71757/2024, pending before the XXIX Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Bengaluru, for the offences under Sections 506 and 509 of the IPC. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioner and respondent No.2 would in unison submit that during the subsistence of these proceedings, the parties to the lis have entered into settlement amongst themselves by drawing up certain terms and conditions. The parties have filed an application under - 3 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:16821 CRL.P No. 480 of 2025 Sections 320 r/w. 482 of the Cr.P.C. along with a joint affidavit before this Court to that effect. 3. The application reads as follows: “5. We state that, in the mean-time, the petitioner and respondent have arrived at a compromise with the due intervention of elders and common friends of both the petitioner and the respondent. Due to said amicable settlement between them, the petitioner and the respondent have agreed to settle their dispute inter se. 6. We state that, continuation of the proceedings will cause great hardship in our lives and the outcome of the case will deteriorate the spirit of us. Therefore, we have sought for quashing the proceedings. Wherefore, it is prayed that this Hon'ble Court may be pleased to allow the above petition quashing the proceedings in CC No.71757/2024 based on the Crime No.113/2022 pending on the file of the XXIX Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate at Bangalore.” In the light of the afore-quoted joint affidavit filed along with the application, I deem it appropriate to terminate the proceedings against the petitioner, as the dispute and the allegations are between the individuals and not against the State. - 4 - HC-KAR NC: 2026:KHC:16821 CRL.P No. 480 of 2025 4. For the aforesaid reasons, the following: O R D E R (a) The criminal petition is disposed.
