Mr. Avijit Sarkar, Ms. Dipa Bhattacharya …for the State. 1. Affidavit-of-service filed on behalf of the petitioner is taken on record. 2. By the present writ petition, the petitioner seeks direction upon the respondent authorities to take necessary steps for correction of the name of the petitioner in the Pension Payment Order. 3. The petitioner contends that her husband was an Assistant Teacher of Kalingar Madhyapara Primary School. The petitioner’s husband retired from service on superannuation on 30th June, 2007. The petitioner’s husband expired on 15th May, 2023. The petitioner’s name is Kabita Kurmi Sarkar, however, in the Pension Payment Order of her husband her name has been recorded as Kabita Kurmi. The name of the petitioner Kabita Kurmi Sarkar is recorded in the AADHAR card, PAN card and bank account. In the Voter card her name has been recorded as Kabita 2 Sarkar. The petitioner made an application before the respondent No.6, the Treasury Officer, Treasury-I, Krishnanagar for issuance of family pension in her name. Though the Pension Payment Order was issued on 1st October, 2024, however, the family pension has not been released in favour of the petitioner due to mismatch of name of the petitioner. There is also mismatch of name of the deceased employee. Hence this writ petition seeking for necessary correction. 4. Ms. Karabi Roy, learned Advocate for the petitioner submits that there is mismatch in the name of the petitioner in the Pension Payment Order dated 23rd April, 2012. For such reason the petitioner is not getting family pension. Affidavit to such effect has been produced. However, no steps have been taken for necessary correction. She seeks for appropriate orders for necessary corrections. 5. Mr. Avijit Sarkar, learned Advocate for the State- respondents submits that on 1st October, 2024, a letter has been issued by the Treasury Officer, Treasury-I, Krishnanagar to the District Inspector of Schools (Primary Education), Nadia for correction of PPO and the matter is under consideration. He seeks that the matter be relegated to the authorities to take a decision on the basis of the documents submitted by the petitioner. 3 6. It is found from Annexure P/8 that a letter has been issued by the Treasury Officer, Treasury-I, Krishnanagar on 1st October, 2024 under Memo No.1815/TA-I to the District Inspector of Schools (Primary Education), Nadia, the respondent No.4 for taking necessary action for correction of the Pension Payment Order of the pensioner, namely Dhirendra Kumar Kurmi. 7. In view of the above, the respondent No.4, the District Inspector of Schools (Primary Education), Nadia is directed to take a decision in the light of the letter dated 1st October, 2024 issued by the Treasury Officer, Treasury-I, Krishnanagar within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of this order. 8. Learned advocate for the petitioner is directed to communicate this order to respondent No.4, the District Inspector of Schools (P.E.), Nadia, for necessary compliance. 9. With the aforesaid direction, the writ petition being WPA 21384 of 2025 stands disposed of. 10. Since no affidavits have been called for, the allegation made in the writ petition is deemed to be not admitted. 11. Interim order, if any, stands vacated. 12. All connected applications, if any, stand disposed of. 13. There shall be no order as to costs. 4 14. All concerned parties shall act in terms of the copy of the order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court. 15.
