VERSUS THE STATE OF ASSAM REP BY THE PP ASSAM ------------ Advocate for : MR. A AHMED Advocate for : PP ASSAM appearing for THE STATE OF ASSAM Page No.# 2/3 BEFORE HONOURABLE MR. JUSTICE PRANJAL DAS ORDER 17.07.2026 Heard Mr. A. Ahmed, learned counsel for the petitioner and Mr. K. K. Parasar, learned Additional Public Prosecutor, Assam. 2. By this interlocutory application, the applicant has prayed for correction of the common order dated 02.07.2026 passed in connected bail petitions BA/1180/2026, BA/717/2026, BA/1239/2026, BA/1282/2026, BA/1226/2026, BA/1468/2026, BA/748/2026 and BA/1180/2026. 3. Learned counsel for the applicant by drawing attention to paragraph 77 of that order submits that it has been stated therein as disposed of. In this context it is submitted that as the matters have been referred to place before the Hon’ble Chief Justice for constitution of larger Bench, if any; therefore these bail petitions are still pending. 4. Upon perusing the common order dated 02-7-2026, passed in the batch of bail petitions, I find that though the prayer of the petitioners for interim bail was not considered, but they were given the liberty to agitate the same before larger Bench, if any. However, as correctly contended and submitted by the learned counsels for the applicants, the bail petitions have been indicated as disposed of. 5. Upon considering the matter, including the aspect of giving liberty to the petitioners to renew their prayers for interim bail before larger Bench, if any – and having referred the bail petitions to be placed before Hon’ble Chief Justice Page No.# 3/3 – it was inadvertently, mistakenly typed as disposed of, instead of keeping the petitions pending for consideration by larger Bench, if any. 6. In such view of the matter and in the given circumstances, I accept the contentions of the applicants and therefore, the aforesaid typographical error is hereby corrected. 7. The batch of bail petitions – BA/1180/2026, BA/717/2026, BA/1239/2026, BA/1282/2026, BA/1226/2026, BA/1468/2026, BA/748/2026 and BA/1180/2026 – would not stand disposed of and shall remain pending till consideration by a larger Bench, if any. 8. The I/A stands allowed and disposed of on the aforesaid terms. 9. This order shall be read as part of the common order dated 02.07.2026. 10. This order may be placed before the Joint Registrar (Judicial) for information. JUDGE Comparing Assistant
