GP FOR FINANCE PLANNING The Court made the following order: Heard Sri Annamneedi Balakrishna, learned counsel for the petitioners, learned Assistant Government Pleader for Municipal Administration and Urban Development, learned Assistant Government Pleader for Finance and Planning and Sri ASC Bose, learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents. 2. The present writ petition is filed challenging the inaction of the respondents in refunding the Earnest Money Deposit (EMD) and Further Security Deposit (FSD) amounts of Rs.1,94,839/- deposited by the petitioners at the time of entering into agreement with the respondents for execution of the contract awarded in its favour. 3 3. It is contended that the petitioners were awarded the civil contract for providing CC drain and CC Road at New Rajiv Gandhi Nagar, Indira Nagar main road, Gadireddy Nagar. It is argued that the works entrusted were executed and the amounts due, pursuant to the execution of the contract, were remitted, yet the EMD which is refundable deposit has not been refunded. 4. Having regard to the same, as the said sum of Rs.1,94,839/- is stated to have been refundable to the petitioner, this Court deems it appropriate to dispose of the writ petition directing the respondents to verify and remit the said sum of Rs.1,94,839/-, if the same is due to the petitioner, within a period of four (04) weeks from the date of receipt of copy of the order. 5. With the above direction, the writ petition is disposed of. There shall be no order as to costs.
