No.8769 of 2019 ORDER: The writ petition is filed to direct the respondent No. 1 not to act upon the resolution dated 18.05.2019 said to have been passed by the respondent No. 7 Gram Panchayat proposing for de-notifying as gram panchayat in order to include into the respondent No. 4 municipal corporation. 2. Ms. B. Pooja Sree Chowdary, learned counsel representing the learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that the petitioners had submitted a letter to the counsel for withdrawing the writ petition and a memo dated 10.09.2026 vide WPUSR No. 104909 of 2026 was filed stating that there was a material change in circumstances since the said merger proposal had been dropped and is no longer being pursued by the respondents; that the respondents and the State Election Commission are gearing up to issue notification for conducting general elections to the gram panchayats across the state; that the petitioners apprehend that due to the mere pendency of the writ petition the authorities may exclude Lalpuram Gram Panchayat from election schedule; and that the petitioners as well as the villagers have unanimously resolved not to prosecute the matter any further. 3. Accordingly, the writ petition is dismissed as withdrawn. There shall be no order as to costs. Pending miscellaneous applications, if any, shall stand closed. ________________________ JUSTICE B.S.
