2026:JHHC:7712 IN THE HIGH COURT OF JHARKHAND AT RANCHI B.A. No. 9923 of 2025 ------ 1. Mayawati @ Mamta Kumari @ Mayawati Kumari 2. Jitendra Chik .... .... …. Petitioners Versus The State of Jharkhand .... .... .... Opp. Party CORAM: HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE RONGON MUKHOPADHYAY For the Petitioners : Mr. Mohit Prakash, Advocate For the State : Ms. Sushma Aind, A.P.P. ------ Order No. 03 / Dated : 19.03.2026 Heard Mr. Mohit Prakash, learned counsel for the petitioners and learned A.P.P. The petitioners are accused in connection with S.T. No.148 of 2025 arising out of Dumri P.S. Case No. 04 of 2025. It has been alleged that the daughter of the informant had committed suicide. Submission has been advanced by the learned counsel for the petitioners that the petitioner no.1 is the sister-in-law of the deceased where the petitioner no.2 is brother-in-law of the deceased. It has been submitted by referring to para 24 of the case diary which contains the statement of Jogendra Chik Baraik that the deceased had a relationship with her brother-in-law, Balram Chik Baraik and she was caught red handed which led her to commit suicide. This statement has been reiterated by several of the witnesses. Learned counsel adds that out of ten charge sheet witness, only two witness have been examined so far and the petitioner is in custody since 27.05.2025. Learned A.P.P. has opposed the prayer for bail of the petitioner. Regard being had to the statement of the witnesses as depicted in the case diary which seems to suggest that the deceased having been caught in an illicit relationship with another accused, had committed suicide and considering the fact that the petitioners are the sister-in-law and brother-in-law of the deceased, the petitioners, above named, are directed to be released on bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs. 10,000/- (Ten Thousand) each with two sureties of the like amount each, to the satisfaction of learned Additional Sessions Judge- 1 –cum- Spl. Judge, Gumla in connection with S.T. No.148 of 2025 arising out of Dumri P.S. Case No. 04 of 2025. (Rongon Mukhopadhyay, J.) Anit Uploaded 24.03.2026
