GP FOR FINANCE PLANNING (AP) 3 The Court made the following order: The present Writ Petition is filed questioning the action of Respondents in not releasing the financial assistance of Rs. 10,00,000/- (Rupees Ten Lakhs only), to the son of the petitioner (Application I.D. No.OV2019121971) under Overseas Scholarship scheme, as illegal and arbitrary. 2. The petitioner’s son by name Gadde Jagadeesh Kumar, applied for the Scholarship under Videshi Vidyadevena, to pursue his studies in abroad vide Application ID No. OV2019121971, as he was selected to pursue his Master’s Course. On such application, he was selected for the Videshi Vidyadevena Scholarship and he would get a financial assistance of Rs. 10,00,000/- to pursue higher studies abroad, as per the sanction of funds by the Government vide G.O.Rt No.174 dated 07.12.2017, read with G.O.Ms.No.29 dated 27.08.2016. Inspite of selecting as an eligible candidate for the said scholarship, the respondents did not release the financial assistance of Rs. 10,00,000/- to the petitioner’s son. Hence, the present Writ Petition is filed. 3. The learned Government Pleader representing respondent No.4 submits that the application of the Petitioner would be considered and amounts would be sanctioned, if the son of the petitioner is within the conditions specified, for release of the amounts. 4. Considering the submissions, this Writ Petition is disposed of, with the following directions:- 4 (i) The Respondents are directed to examine the claim of the son of Petitioner within a period of six (06) weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this order. (ii) In the event, the claim of the son of the petitioner is held to be in order, the Respondents are directed to release the amounts to him within a further period of eight (08) weeks. There shall be no order as to costs.
