It is submitted on behalf of the petitioner that notwithstanding compliance with all requirements, the respondent WBSEDCL is not providing them with a new electricity connection to their premises. On behalf of WBSEDCL, it is submitted that there are staggering unpaid dues in respect of the premises, which had accrued in the erstwhile owner of the said premises. The petitioner alleges to be a society and sought for an electricity connection in the name of the society. 2 On behalf of WBSEDCL, it is also submitted that this is just a garb to avoid non- payment of the earlier dues. In view of the disputes raised on behalf of the parties, WPA 26945 of 2024 stands disposed of by directing the Grievance Redressal Officer (GRO) having jurisdiction to consider and dispose of the representation of the petitioner. Liberty is granted to the petitioner to file a representation within a week from date. If such representation is received, concerned GRO would dispose of the same within two weeks from the date of receipt after giving right of hearing to all the affected parties. It is made clear that there has been no expression on the merits of the case and all issues are left open to be decided by the concerned GRO in accordance with law. (Ravi Krishan Kapur, J.)
