Shamim Akhtar, learned counsel for the petitioner and learned A.P.P. for the State. The petitioner is an accused in connection with Katkamsandi (P) P.S. Case No. 219/2025. It has been alleged that the petitioner and some co-accused persons were apprehended and from the vehicle opium was recovered. It has been submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that 720 grams was recovered from the six- wheeler vehicle of the petitioner. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that the petitioner does not have any criminal antecedent and he is in custody since 23.10.2025. Learned A.P.P. has opposed the prayer for bail of the petitioner. Regard being had to the quantity of opium recovered, period of custody undergone by the petitioner and the fact that he does not have any criminal antecedent, he is directed to be released on bail on furnishing bail bond of Rs. 10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand only) with two sureties of the like amount each, to the satisfaction of learned Principal District & Sessions Judge-cum-Special Judge, N.D.P.S.
