Neutral Citation No. ( 2026:JHHC:12506-DB ) THE HIGH COURT OF JHARKHAND AT RANCHI Criminal Appeal (DB) No. 534 of 2026 Babu Ram ... Appellant Versus The State of Jharkhand … Respondent --- CORAM: HON’BLE MR. JUSTICE RONGON MUKHOPADHYAY HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE PRADEEP KUMAR SRIVASTAVA For the Appellant : Mr. Naresh Pd. Thakur, Advocate For the State : PP --- Order No. 03 Dated 29th April, 2026 Heard the learned counsel for the respective sides. This appeal is directed against the order dated 17.03.2026 passed by the learned Additional Sessions Judge-I, Giridih in B.P. No. 138 of 2026 arising out of Deori P.S. Case No. 95/2024, whereby and whereunder, the prayer for regular bail of the appellant has been rejected. It has been alleged that a bus was intercepted and 17 children who were being trafficked were rescued. Submission has been advanced by the learned counsel for the appellant that the appellant has been implicated on the disclosure of the driver of the bus, namely, Chirag Kumar who has already been granted bail the learned Court below. It has further been submitted that the appellant is in custody since 25.02.2026. Learned counsel adds that the appellant has one criminal antecedent in which he has been granted bail. Learned APP has opposed the prayer for bail of the appellant. It seems that the appellant is involved in another case being Deori P.S. Case No. 63 of 2024 which also is related to human trafficking. Regard being had to the fact that the appellant has a criminal antecedent, we are not inclined to grant bail to appellant at this stage and consequently this appeal stands dismissed at this stage.
