1. Affidavit of service filed on behalf of the petitioner is taken on record.
2. In writ petition petitioner has prayed for registering FIR based on the complaint lodged by the petitioner before the concerned police authority.
3. Mr. Yusuf, learned Additional Government Pleader representing the State respondents has filed a communication dated 20th April, 2026 of Inspector- in-Charge of English Bazar Police Station, Malda and same is taken on record.
Copy of said communication is made over to learned advocate representing the petitioner.

4. It is disclosed in said communication that based on the complaint lodged by the petitioner a criminal prosecution being English Bazar Police Station Case No. 562/26 dated 14th April, 2026 under certain provisions of the Indian Penal Code was initiated.
5. In view of steps taken by the police authority, no further order need be passed at this stage on the writ petition.
6. However, concerned police authority is directed to expedite investigation and submit report before the jurisdictional Magistrate at an early date.
7. Petitioner is also granted liberty to approach jurisdictional Magistrate, if occasion so arises.
8. Writ petition stands disposed of.
9. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, applied for, be given to the parties on usual undertaking.
