The petitioner seems to be aggrieved by non-compliance of the existing directions and the practices being followed by the traders, which, according to the petitioner, result in charging the consumer for paper carry bag without prior information. According to the petitioner, such a practice falls within the unfair trade practices under the provisions of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019 [Act]. This is a digitally signed order. Having considered the submissions made by learned counsel appearing for the petitioner, the Court finds that the Central Consumer Protection Authority [CCPA] under Section 17 of the Act is fully empowered to consider the grievance of the petitioner and to pass appropriate orders. The petitioners seem to have made certain complaints by e-mail, however, there does not seem to be a proper representation to the said authority. 3. Ms. Swati. R. K., learned counsel appearing for the CCPA, submits that if a proper application is received, the same shall be considered in accordance with law. 4. In view of the aforesaid, the petition stands disposed of. 5. Let the petitioner to file a comprehensive representation to the CCPA within 15 days from the date of receipt of a copy of the order passed today. If such a representation is received, let the CCPA to deal with the same in accordance with law with due expedition. 6. All rights and contentions of the parties are left open.
