1. Affidavit of service filed in Court today is taken on record.
2. The petitioner was issued an order of suspension on 15th December, 2025 in contemplation of a disciplinary proceeding which may be initiated against him.
3. He is aggrieved as no steps have been taken thereafter.
4. A representation was filed by the petitioner before the authority seeking revocation of the order of suspension on 19th January, 2026 followed by a reminder on 23rd March, 2026.
5. The same is pending consideration till date.
6. It is settled law that an order of suspension cannot remain valid for an indefinite period of time. More than four months have elapsed from the date of issuance of the order of suspension. No further steps have been taken by the authority till date.

7. Under such circumstances, the instant writ petition is disposed of by directing the Additional Chief Secretary and Land Reforms Commissioner, West Bengal Land & Land Reforms and Refugee, Relief and Rehabilitation Department to take a decision on the petitioner’s prayer seeking revocation of the order of suspension strictly in accordance with law at the earliest but positively within a period of eight weeks from the date of communication of this order.
8. If the authority either intends or does not intend to proceed with the disciplinary proceeding, then necessary consequential steps shall be taken without any further delay.
9. The writ petition stands disposed of.
10. Parties to act on the basis of the server copy of this order duly downloaded from the official website of this Court.
11. Urgent photostat certified copy of this order, if applied for, be supplied to the parties upon compliance of all requisite formalities.
