ORAL ORDER
The captioned writ petition is filed seeking issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to consider the petitioner’s representations produced at Annexures–C, D, E, F and G and to extend adequate police protection, including deployment of two gunmen, at his cost. The petitioner asserts that he is facing a serious threat to his life from certain anti-social elements, who, according to him, are acting out of political animosity. It is further contended that he is the sole breadwinner of his family and that any harm caused to him would have grave consequences on his dependents. The grievance projected in the petition is that despite submitting multiple representations, the respondent–police authorities have failed to take prompt action, thereby necessitating intervention of this Court.
2. Learned Additional Government Advocate, along with the ACP of Ashoknagar Police Station who is present

before the Court, submits on instructions that the petitioner’s representations would be examined expeditiously and appropriate action would be taken in accordance with law. It is further submitted that the latest representation at Annexure–G, addressed to the jurisdictional Station House Officer, shall be considered forthwith and necessary measures would be initiated at the earliest.
3. Recording the submission and assurance made by the learned Additional Government Advocate and the ACP present before the Court, this Court proceeds to pass the following:
ORDER (i) The writ petition stands disposed of; (ii) The respondents are
directed to consider the petitioner’s representations at Annexures–C, D, E, F and G and take appropriate action in accordance with law, upon assessing

the nature and extent of the threat perception projected by the petitioner; (iii) Such exercise shall be completed within a period of two (2) weeks from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order.
