(2) According to petitioner, State Public Works Department is constructing a bridge over his land, without acquisition. By means of this writ petition, petitioner has sought the following relief: “i) Issue a writ order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the respondent no. 2 (District Magistrate Haridwar) to decide the representation dated 10.2.2026 of petitioner (Annexure-2, pg no. 15 to 16) within stipulated period as may deem fit and proper by this Hon’ble Court.” (3) Learned State Counsel submits that the land in question was acquired by the State in the year 1974. (4) Learned Counsel for the petitioner, however, disputes the said contention and he submits that acquisition was for construction of a different bridge, which is adjacent to the bridge now being constructed. He also submits that petitioner has made a representation to District UKHC010136792026 2026:UHC:6831 Magistrate, who may be asked to take decision thereupon. (5) Learned State Counsel submits that he has no objection if the writ petition is disposed of in terms of prayer made by learned Counsel for the petitioner. (6) Writ petition is, accordingly, disposed of with a direction to District Magistrate to take decision on petitioner’s representation dated 10.2.2026, as per law, within four months from the date of presentation of certified copy of this order.
