Heard learned counsel for the parties. 2. The petitioner is District Sports Officer, Pithoragarh. The petitioner had submitted an application on 27.04.2026 giving options for his transfer to Dehradun, Haridwar or Tehri Garhwal. However, he has not been transferred during the annual transfers effected in the month of June, 2026 and, therefore, he has filed the present writ petition for the following relief: “i. Issue a writ, order or direction in the nature of Mandamus directing the respondents to consider and decide the petitioner's representation by passing a reasoned and speaking order within a time stipulated by this Hon'ble Court. i. Issue a writ order or direction in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to consider the petitioner for transfer to Haridwar or any other suitable plain district strictly in accordance with the Uttarakhand Annual Transfer for Public Servants Act, 2017.” 1 UKHC010137502026 2026:UHC:6872-DB 3. The annual transfers are effected in the month of June every year. The said exercise is complete. As the petitioner has not been transferred during the annual chain of transfers, therefore, he cannot have any grievance nor can he compel the employer to transfer him and that too at a place of his choice. 4. The petition is, accordingly, dismissed but without prejudice to the rights of the petitioner to exercise option for transfer in the next year. 5.
