This writ petition has been filed for a direction, directing the https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP No. 12726 of 2026 respondents to allot residential accommodation to the petitioners in accordance with the Allotment Order dated 17.03.2017, 27.03.2017, 25.04.2017 and 26.05.2017 in Proceedings No. G1/11930/2011 issued by the 1st respondent or otherwise, reallot residential accommodation to the petitioners in the remaining unutilized land available after the expansion of the Ennore Expressway in the Nalla Thaneer Odai Kuppam area. 4. It is the case of the petitioners that the petitioners are all fishermen families of the Nalla Thanneer Odai Kuppam have been living for the past three generations. In the year 2017, for the expansion of road, they were directed to vacate the places and the Government has decided to construct new four- storeyed buildings and relocate the families and in this regard, the first respondent has given alloltment order vide order dated 17.03.2017, however, it is the grievance of the petitioners that no alternative accommodation were arranged and provided as per the allotment issued by the first respondent and the petitioners are living in a rented houses. In this regard, they have submitted representations on 16.02.2026 and 17.02.2026 to the respondents and they are also pending without consideration till date. Hence, this writ petition. 5. The learned counsel for the petitioners submitted that this Court may issue a direction to the first respondent to consider the representations of the https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis WP No. 12726 of 2026 petitioners dated 16.02.2026 and 17.02.2026 within a reasonable time as fixed by this Court. 6. Heard both sides and perused the materials placed on record. 7. Considering the limited relief sought for in this writ petition, this Court without going into the merits of the case directs the first respondent to consider the representations of the petitioners dated 16.02.2026 and 17.02.2026 and pass appropriate orders on merits and in accordance within a period of twelve weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this Order. 8. Accordingly, this writ petition stands disposed of. No costs.
