This writ petition has been filed by the petitioners seeking police protection to the petitioners so that they may live their life peacefully and harmoniously without fear or favour at the hands of respondent no.6. 3. Learned State Counsel, on the basis of written instructions received from the concerned police authorities, submits that respondent no.6 has vacated the tenanted premises situate at Vishnu Vihar Colony, Basai Peerumadara, Police Station Ramnagar, District Nainital, where he was previously residing. It is, therefore, submitted that, at present, there is no threat perception to the petitioners from respondent no.6. 4. Learned State Counsel further submits that in Writ Petition (Criminal) UKHC010042252026 2026:UHC:6833 No.1244 of 2026, filed by respondent no.6, this Court had directed the local police to assess the threat perception to respondent no.4 therein and further observed that, in the event respondent no.6 herein harasses respondent no.4 therein or victimizes his family members, they would be at liberty to approach the concerned Station House Officer, who shall take appropriate action in accordance with law. It is submitted that the same protection under law would equally be available to the present petitioners and, in the event of any genuine threat or harassment at the hands of respondent no.6 in future, they may approach the concerned Station House Officer, who shall examine their grievance and take appropriate action strictly in accordance with law. 5. The writ petition is, accordingly, disposed of by taking the statement of learned State Counsel on record.
