For Petitioner : Mr.Haja Mohideen A For Respondent : Mr.A.Oliraja Government Advocate 1/4 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P(MD)No.6490 of 2026 ORDER The present Writ Petition has been filed for the issuance of a Writ Certiorarified Mandamus, to quash the impugned rejection of patta dated 19.01.2026 and to direct the respondent to hear the petitioner, peruse the entire documents and consequentially include the petitioner's name as legal heirs of deceased Late.M.A.Mohamed Ibrahim for the land in existing Joint Patta No.363, Survey No.63/3 an extent of 1 Hectare 82.50 Ares (4 Acre 50 Cents) in Poolampatti Revenue Village, Madurai East Taluk, Madurai District, within the period as stipulated by this Court. 2. Originally, the land in Survey No.63/3, measuring an extent of 1 Hectare 82.50 Ares (4 Acres 50 Cents), belonged to the petitioner’s mother-in-law. After the demise of the petitioner’s mother-in-law on 04.09.1984, she left behind her husband, two daughters, and one son, who is the petitioner’s husband. Thereafter, the petitioner’s father-in-law and the two daughters executed a Release Deed in favour of the petitioner’s husband, vide Document No.211/1992 dated 12.05.1992. Subsequently, the petitioner’s husband died on 20.11.2012. Thereafter, the petitioner, being the wife of the deceased M. Mohamed Ibrahim, is entitled to the property. The learned Government Advocate appearing for the respondent, on instructions, submitted that the petitioner is not cooperating for the enquiry. It was further submitted that the petitioner had provided an incorrect mobile number; therefore, she could not be contacted for the enquiry. 4. In view of the above, the petitioner is directed to appear before the respondent in person with all original documents along with xerox copies of the same on 08.04.2026. The respondent shall conduct an enquiry and pass appropriate orders within a period of four weeks therefrom. 5. With the above direction, this Writ Petition is disposed of.
