Islam, learned counsel for the petitioner. Also heard by Mr. A. K. Ghosh, learned standing counsel, Panchayat & Rural Development Department, and Mr. Rajib Borpujari, learned standing counsel, Finance Department, appearing on behalf of their respective respondents. Mr. Islam, learned counsel for the petitioner, at the outset, has submitted that the pension and pensionary benefits claimed in the present proceeding, has been authorized in favour of the husband of the petitioner, herein, vide issuance of a Pension Payment Order(PPO) being PPO No. ADP/PRI/PPO/GPO/2012/ 000345, dated 30.05.2025. Mr. Islam, learned counsel, has, however, submitted that the husband of the petitioner had passed away on 10.03.2013. Accordingly, the learned counsel has submitted that the Pension Payment Order(PPO) issued in favour of the husband of the petitioner, would require a revision, in-as-much as, the same would now be required for the life-time arrears of the husband of the petitioner till 10.03.2013. It is stated at the Bar that the petitioner, herein, is receiving her family pension. In view of the above; the petitioner, herein, is directed to submit a representation along with a certified copy of this order before the respondents No. 4 & 5, herein, within a period of 1(one) week from today, praying for revision of the Pension Payment Order(PPO) already issued in favour of the husband of the Page No.# 3/3 petitioner. On receipt of such representation from the petitioner, herein; the respondents No. 4 & 5 shall forward the same to the Director of Pension, Government of Assam. The Director of Pension, Government of Assam, on receipt of the representation, shall take appropriate action thereon, and issue the revised/ fresh Pension Payment Order(PPO) as mandated under the law to the petitioner, herein, within a period of 1(one) month thereafter. With the above directions and observations, this writ petition accordingly stands disposed of. JUDGE Comparing Assistant
