Learned counsel appearing for the petitioner makes a statement at the bar that since the petitioner has passed away during pendency of the writ petition, therefore, the writ petition has become infructuous.
4. Perusal of the relief clause reveals that petitioner had sought benefit of promoted pay scale w.e.f. the date when it was given to his juniors and he also sought a direction to consider his case for promotion to IAS cadre. Upon death of the petitioner, these reliefs cannot be granted.
5. Accordingly, the writ petition is dismissed as infructuous.
