The petitioners have filed the present writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India with a prayer to issue a writ in the nature of Mandamus directing the respondent-Department to remove the anomaly between the pay of the petitioners/seniors and Junior Government Employees, in view of the Notification dated 22.08.2019 (Annexure P-5) issued by the respondent-Department. It is further prayed that the respondent-Department may be directed to decide the legal notice dated 20.05.2025 (Annexure P-6) in a time bound manner. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that the relief claimed in the instant petition has already been allowed by this Court to several similarly placed employees, vide orders dated 12.01.2023 (Annexure P-7) and 07.05.2025 (Annexure P-8). He further submits that he shall be satisfied in case, appropriate directions are issued to respondent No.2 to decide the legal notice dated 20.05.2025 (Annexure P-6) in the light of the orders dated 12.01.2023 (Annexure P-7) and 07.05.2025 (Annexure P-8), passed by HEMLATA 2025.09.11 22:39 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document CWP-27031-2025 -2- respondent-department in the cases of similarly placed employees, in a time bound manner. 3. Notice of motion. 4. On the asking of the Court, Mr. Satnampreet Singh Chauhan, DAG, Punjab, who is present in the Court, accepts notice on behalf of the respondents and has no serious objection to the limited prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioner. 5. I have heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the record carefully. 6. At this stage, respondent No.2 is directed to decide the legal notice dated 20.05.2025 (Annexure P-6) submitted by the petitioner, within a period of four months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order, by passing a speaking and well reasoned order. It is expected that Respondent No.2 shall examine the orders dated 12.01.2023 (Annexure P-7) and 07.05.2025 (Annexure P-8) and other relevant rules/instructions in the present case, before passing a speaking order. 7. The present petition is disposed of, accordingly.
