The petitioners have filed the present writ petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India with a prayer to issue a writ in the nature of Mandamus directing respondents to grant the statutory pay scales to the petitioners as amended in the rules from time to time, i.e. Rs. 10300-34800 Grade Pay of Rs.4200/- for the post of Senior Industrial Promotion Officer, Block Level Extension Officers and statutory pay scale of Rs. 10300-34800 + Grade Pay 3200 for the post of clerks from the date of their direct appointment alongwith arrears and interest at 12% per annum thereon with further pay revision. 2. Learned counsel for the petitioners contends that the case of the petitioners is squarely covered by the ratio of the law laid down by this Court in CWP-15896-2023 (O&M), titled as “Saurabh Sharma and others Vs. State of Punjab and Anr.” dated 13.09.2024 AMIT RANA 2025.09.10 10:03 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this judgement/order CWP 26731 of 2025 -2- (Annexure P-12), which has been duly upheld by a Division Bench of this Court in LPA-2977-2024 (O&M), titled as “State of Punjab and Anr. Vs. Dr. Sauravbh Sharma and Others” (Annexure P-13). 3. Learned counsel further submits that the petitioners have already submitted a representation-cum-demand notice dated 02.05.2025 (Annexure P-13) to the official respondents and he shall be satisfied in case, appropriate directions are issued to the respondents to decide the representation-cum-demand notice dated 02.05.2025 (Annexure P-13) in a time bound manner. 4. Notice of motion. 5. On the asking of the Court, Mr. Surya Kumar, AAG, Punjab who is present in the Court, accepts notice on behalf of the official respondents and has no serious objection to the limited prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioners, at this stage. 6. I have heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the record carefully. 7. At this stage, it would be appropriate to direct the respondent No.2 to decide the representation-cum-demand notice dated 02.05.2025 (Annexure P-13) in view of the law laid down by this Court in CWP-15896-2023, titled as “Saurabh Sharma and others Vs. State of Punjab and Anr.” dated 13.09.2024 (Annexure P- 12) and in LPA-2977-2024 (O&M), titled as “State of Punjab and Anr. Vs. Dr. Sauravbh Sharma and Others” (Annexure P-13) within AMIT RANA 2025.09.10 10:03 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this judgement/order CWP 26731 of 2025 -3- a period of three months of date of receipt of certified copy of this order. 8. Needless to observe that the respondent No.2 shall pass a speaking and well reasoned order in the light of the above referred judgments as well as relevant rules/instructions and in case, it is found that the petitioners are entitled to relief claimed in the representation, consequently, all benefits may also be released to the petitioners within a period of one month, thereafter, along with interest. 9.
