(Oral) (1) At the outset, learned counsel for the petitioner submits that he restricts his prayer to the issuance of directions to respondent No.2 -District Magistrate, Ludhiana to finally dispose of the petitioner’s application dated 11.04.2025 made to the jail authorities for grant of parole as the same has been pending decision for the last 05 months. (2) Learned State counsel has no objection to the acceptance of the afore alternate prayer made on behalf of the petitioner. (3) After hearing learned counsel for the parties and going through the record, we find that the decision on the petitioner’s request for grant of parole has been unnecessarily delayed by the State which is also against the spirit behind Section 3 of the Punjab Good Conduct Prisoners (Temporary Release) Act, 1962.
