( 2025:JHHC:25185 ) IN THE HIGH COURT OF JHARKHAND AT RANCHI
B.A. No. 2842 of 2025
Karan Oraon @ Sukhram Oraon @ Kara Oraon, aged about 52 years, son of Bhathi Oraon, resident of Andheradih, P.O. & P.S.- Ghaghra, Dist.- Gumla, Jharkhand
… Petitioner
- Versus - The State of Jharkhand
… Opp. Party
------ CORAM: - HON’BLE MR. JUSTICE AMBUJ NATH
----- For the Petitioner : Md. Razaullah Ansari, Advocate For the State
: Mr. Achinto Sen, A.P.P.
--- 04/25.08.2025
Heard the parties.
The petitioner has been made accused in connection with S.T. Case No. 188 of 2018 arising out of Ghaghra P.S. Case No.120 of 2015, for the offences registered under Sections 302, 201/34 of the I.P.C., pending in the Court of learned Additional Sessions Judge-III, Gumla.
On 12.11.2015, son of the informant went missing. Subsequently, the informant came to know that he was murdered.
It was submitted that petitioner is not named in the F.I.R. It was further submitted that name of the petitioner has transpired in confession of co-accused.
Learned A.P.P. has opposed the prayer for bail and submitted that petitioner had remained absconding for a long period of time. Report regarding stage of trial and time required for its conclusion earlier called for, has been received. It appears that charge was framed against the petitioner on 03.08.2024 and prosecution has not examined any witness. In view of the aforesaid facts, I am inclined to enlarge the petitioner on bail. Accordingly, the petitioner, above named, is directed to be released on bail on furnishing bail bonds of Rs. 20,000/- (Rupees twenty thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each, to the satisfaction of learned Additional Sessions Judge-III, Gumla, in connection with S.T. Case No. 188 of 2018 arising out of Ghaghra P.S. Case No.120 of 2015.
