1. The present civil writ petition has been filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing the respondents to grant the statutory pay scale to the petitioners as per 2009 Rules (Annexure P-5) along with arrears at interest rate of 12% thereon and further directing the respondents to take into account the statutory pay scale.

Learned counsel for the petitioners submits that he would be satisfied if the representation (Annexure P-8) of the petitioners is decided by the respondents by passing a speaking order in a time bound manner.
3. Learned State counsel, appearing on advanced notice, submits that he has no objection in case a direction is issued to the respondents for time- bound consideration and decision of the representation of the petitioners by passing a speaking order.
4. Therefore, in view of the limited prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioners, the respondents are directed to consider the representation Neha 2025.09.10 09:49 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document
CWP-26739-2025 -2- (Annexure P-8) of the petitioners in light of the judgments passed by this Court in CWP No.15896 of 2023 (O&M) titled as ‘Dr. Saurabh Sharma and others Vs. State of Punjab and others’ and CWP No.17064 of 2017 titled as ‘Ajay Kumar Singla and others Vs. State of Punjab and others’ and pass a speaking
order, after affording them an opportunity to be heard, within a period of 03 months from the date of receiving a certified copy of this order. Further, the decision taken thereof shall be conveyed to the petitioners. Needless to say, if the petitioners are found entitled to the relief sought, the same shall be granted forthwith by the respondents.
