No.773 of 2025 PRAYER : Writ Petition is filed under Article 226 of Constitution of India, to issue a Writ of Mandamus directing the respondents 1 to 5 to grant permission for conducting of the festival and car procession which is scheduled to be held on 7th, 8th, 9th of September 2025 including Nadagam programme and traditional rituals of Arulmigu Sri Muthumariamman temple located at Singanur Village, Tindivanam Taluk, Villupuram District, with police protection. Side) O R D E R This Writ Petition has been filed to direct the respondents 1 to 5 to grant permission for conducting the festival and car procession which is scheduled to be held on 7th, 8th and 9th of September 2025 including Nadagam programme and traditional rituals of Arulmigu Sri Muthumariamman Temple located at Singanur Village, Tindivanam Taluk, Villupuram District, with police protection.

W.P.(Crl.) No.773 of 2025 learned Government Advocate (Criminal Side) appearing for the respondents 1 to 5.
3. The grievance of the learned counsel for the petitioner is that the petitioner had sent a representation to the respondents 1 to 5 on 20.08.2025 seeking permission to conduct festival and car procession including Nadagam programme and traditional rituals of Arulmigu Sri Muthumariamman temple. However, the same has not been considered till date. Since the festival is scheduled to be held on 07.09.2025 to 09.09.2025, with no other option, the present petition has been filed.
4. Considering the facts and circumstance, let the police consider the representation of the petitioner based on ground reality. If any law and
order problem arises, it is absolutely the realm of the police to handle the same based on ground reality and accord permission.
5. In case of permission is granted, the petitioner is directed to ensure strict compliance with the conditions to be imposed by the police and also ensure that in the name of Nadagam programme, no obscene songs and other cultural activities, is carried out. 3/5 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis
