The instant petition has been filed by the petitioner for directions to the respondents No.1 to 4 by calling the status report upon the investigation conducted so far in case FIR No.80 dated 22.07.2025, under Sections 333, 118(2), 115(2), 3(5) of BNS, 2023, Police Station Bhindi Saidan, District Amritsar Rural, and also for direction to respondents No.2 and 3 to conduct a fair investigation. 2. The learned counsel representing the petitioner submits that the petitioner has filed a representation dated 05.08.2025 (Annexure P-3) before the respondent No.3-Senior Superintendent of Police, District Amritsar Rural. The learned counsel prays for directions to the respondent No.3 to decide the abovementioned representation within a stipulated time. 3. Notice of motion to the respondents No.1 to 4 only. Since advance notice has already been served upon the State, Mr. Eklavya Darshi, Deputy Advocate General, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of respondents No.1 to 4, and waives service. 5. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that a direction for deciding the representation of the petitioner (Annexure P-3) be given to the respondent No.3, and that the instant petition may be disposed of accordingly. 6. Keeping in view the aforesaid facts, the present petition is hereby disposed of with a direction to the respondent No.3 to pass a speaking order and decide the representation of the petitioner (Annexure P- 3) within a period of 15 days from the date of receipt of copy of instant order. The police authority of District Amritsar Rural shall be at liberty to make an independent assessment of the threat perception to the petitioner, and take a decision on the issue of providing security to her. However, it is made clear that there is no observation of this Court with regard to merits of the case and the police authorities shall be at liberty to draw their own conclusion without being influenced by the contents of instant order.
