1. Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned A.P.P. for the State.
2. The petitioner seeks bail in a case registered for the offences punishable under Sections 30(a), 32(2) and 41(1) of the Bihar Excise Act.
3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner is a person with clean antecedent and allegation is of recovery of 558 liters of liquor from a truck and 216 liters of liquor from a pick up vehicle.
4. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner was not apprehended from the spot as such nothing was recovered from his conscious possession and is not the owner of any of the seized vehicle and he came to be implicated at the instance of Chowkidar with whom he is on an inimical
Patna High Court CR. MISC. No.3215 of 2025(2) dt.24-01-2025 2/2 term and is in custody since 13.12.2024.
5. Learned A.P.P. for the State opposes the prayer for regular bail of the petitioner.
6. Considering the submissions made by the learned counsel for the petitioner, the petitioner above-named, be released on bail on furnishing bail bonds of Rs. 10,000/- (Rupees Ten Thousand) with two sureties of the like amount each to the satisfaction of the learned Trial Court where the case is pending/successor court in connection with Patepur P.S. Case No. 180 of 2024.
7. At this stage, the learned counsel for the petitioner seeks permission to rectify the description of the petitioner in the regular bail application. It is submitted that name of the petitioner is Ranjit Singh @ Ranjan Kumar but inadvertently the petitioner has been described as Ranjit Singh @ Ranjit Kumar.
8. Permission is accorded.
