Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned standing counsel for the State-respondents. 2. Present petition has been filed with the following prayer:- "Issue ad interim mandamus commanding the respondent no.2 (District Magistrate, Gorakhpur) to issue character certificate to the petitioner pending before him since 12.7.2025 within a stipulated period." 3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that petitioner has filed an application for issuance of character certificate and further requisite fee has also been submitted through challan on 12.7.2025, but till date character certificate has not been issued to petitioner. He next submitted that a suitable direction may be issued to District Magistrate-respondent No.2 to issue character certificate to the petitioner within stipulated period. 4. Learned Standing Counsel submitted that application of the petitioner shall be decided at the earliest. 5. Under such facts and circumstances of the case, this writ petition is disposed of with direction to respondent no.2 to decide the application of the petitioner with regard to issuance of character certificate strictly in accordance with law within a period of three weeks from the date of production of certified copy of this order. 6.
