The petitioner has prayed for a direction to respondent No. 2 to restore the passport of the petitioner. 2. It seems that a criminal case was registered against the petitioner and consequently, there was an adverse police verification report against him. The petitioner is stated to have submitted his reply to a show cause notice issued to him on 09.09.2025. In the reply, the petitioner has clearly stated that in the criminal case, final report was submitted and the case has been closed. 3. Shri Prabha Shankar Tripathi, learned counsel for respondents No. 1 & 2 submits that final report has not been accepted so far. 4. Once, the petitioner has replied to the show cause notice, we are of the opinion that respondent No. 2 should have taken appropriate decision in the light of the reply submitted by the petitioner. The matter cannot be kept pending. 5. Accordingly, we dispose of the instant writ petition with direction to respondent No. 2 to take decision on basis of the application of the petitioner and the reply submitted by him in response to the show cause notice within a period of four weeks from the date of communication of the instant order.
