JUSTICE PUNEET GUPTA, JUDGE ORDER 18.02.2025 Learned counsel for the parties submit that the parties have amicably settled the matter out of Court and in pursuance of the settlement arrived at the respondent has been held entitled to a lump sum amount of Rs.2,69,000/-. It is submitted that out of the amount agreed, the appellant company has deposited a sum of Rs.1,50,000/- before Registry of this Court and an amount of Rs.54,000/- before the District Consumer Protection Forum, Srinagar. It is further stated that the outstanding amount to be paid by the appellant to the respondent is only to the extent of Rs.65,000/-. Mr. Dendru, learned counsel appearing for the appellant, submits that the same shall be paid to the respondent within a period of two weeks. In view of the aforesaid statement, this appeal is disposed of by providing as under:- i) The Registry shall release an amount of Rs.1,50,000/- deposited by the appellant in favour of the respondent upon proper identification/verification and completion of requisite formalities. Sr. No.12 2 ii) The District Consumer Protection Forum, Srinagar shall release the deposited amount of Rs.54,000/- in favour of the respondent upon proper identification/verification and completion of requisite formalities. iii) The appellant-Insurance Company shall pay the balance amount of Rs.65,000/- by way of a Demand Draft to the respondent within a period of two weeks from today. iv) The execution petition pending before the District Consumer Protection Forum, Srinagar shall also stand disposed of and the orders passed therein shall stand vacated. v) This closes the entire litigation between the parties. v) (Puneet Gupta) (Sanjeev Kumar) Judge Judge Jammu 18.02.2025 Vinod, PS
