1. The petitioners have filed the present writ petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India with a prayer to issue a writ in the nature of Mandamus directing the respondents to grant the statutory pay scale to them and salary in the pay scale of 10300-34800-3200 G.P along with arrears and interest thereon. A further prayer has been made to direct the respondents to decide the legal notice dated 30.07.2025 (Annexure P-6) in a time bound manner. Further prayer has also been made to issue a writ in the nature of Certiorari to quash the instructions dated 17.07.2020 (Annexure P-3).

Learned counsel for the petitioners contends that the case of the petitioners is squarely covered by the ratio of the law laid down by this Court in CWP-15896-2023 (O&M), titled as “Saurabh Sharma and others Vs. State of Punjab and Anr.” dated 13.09.2024.

Learned counsel further submits that the petitioners have already submitted a legal notice dated 30.07.2025 (Annexure P-6) to the respondents and he shall be satisfied in case, appropriate directions are issued to the HEMLATA 2025.09.03 05:13 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document
CWP-25978-2025 -2- respondent No.1 to decide the legal notice dated 30.07.2025 (Annexure P-6) in a time bound manner.

5. On the asking of the Court, Mr. Charanpreet Singh, AAG, Punjab, who is present in the Court, accepts notice on behalf of the official respondents and has no serious objection to the prayer made by learned counsel for the petitioners, at this stage.
6. I have heard learned counsel for the parties and perused the record carefully.
7. At this stage, it would be appropriate to direct respondent No.1 to decide the legal notice dated 30.07.2025 (Annexure P-6) in view of the law laid down by this Court in CWP-15896-2023, titled as “Saurabh Sharma and others Vs. State of Punjab and Anr.” dated 13.09.2024 within a period of four months from the date of receipt of certified copy of this order.

Needless to observe that respondent No.1 shall pass a speaking and well reasoned order in the light of the above referred judgment as well as relevant rules/instructions and in case, it is found that the petitioners are entitled to relief claimed in legal notice, all consequential benefits may also be released to the petitioners within a period of two months, thereafter, along with interest.
9. The present petition is disposed of, accordingly.
