Prayer in this petition is for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner in case FIR No.199 dated 25.05.2020 under Sections 419, 420, 465, 467, 468, 471, 120-B of the IPC (lateron converted to Sections 319(2), 318(4), 336(2), 338, 336(3), 340(2), 61(2) of the BNS, 2023) registered at Police Station Sadar Dhuri, District Sangrur. 2. On the last date of hearing i.e. on 28.10.2024, the following submissions were made by the learned counsel for the State and this Court had granted the concession of interim bail to the petitioner and asked him to join investigation:- “Learned State counsel, on instructions from ASI Krishan Singh, submits that the petitioner has been exonerated by the Investigating Officer, however, the report exonerating the petitioner is still awaiting the approval of the superior officers.” POONAM RATHORE 2025.01.29 15:33 I attest to the accuracy and authenticity of this document High Court Chandigarh CRM-M-51372-2024 -2- 3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that in compliance of order dated 28.10.2024, the petitioner has joined investigation and cooperated with the investigating agency. 4. Learned State counsel, on instructions, has not disputed that there has been compliance of order dated 28.10.2024. It has also not been disputed, on instructions, that a cancellation report stands filed qua the petitioner. He, on further instructions, submits that the petitioner is not required for further investigation much less for his custodial interrogation. 5. In view of the above, the petition is allowed and interim order dated 28.10.2024, is made absolute subject to the conditions laid down in Section 438(2) Cr.P.C./482(2) of BNSS, 2023.
