1. Prayer in the present petition has been made for grant of regular bail to the petitioner in case FIR No.0106 dated 23.07.2022 under Sections 22, 61 (Section 27 added lateron) of Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act, 1985, registered at Police Station Division No.3, Police Commissionerate, Ludhiana, Punjab.
2. Learned State counsel, at the outset, has submitted that all the prosecution witnesses already stand examined and the case is fixed for defence evidences before the trial Court on 16.07.2025.

Learned counsel for the petitioner though affirms the same, however, he submits that defence witnesses are the official witnesses and they are intentionally not appearing before the trial Court, despite the summons having been issued.

CRM-M-51137-2024 -2- into the merits of the case, however, keeping in view the custody period of the petitioner and the submission made by learned counsel for the petitioner, the present petition is disposed of and the trial Court is requested to take the necessary action for ensuring the presence of defence witnesses before it and expedite the trial in accordance with the law.
