The petitioner has prayed for a writ of mandamus commanding respondent no. 2 to renew passport of the petitioner in pursuance of the application made by him in this regard. 2. The case of the petitioner is that the respondent authority is not renewing the passport in view of a criminal case registered against the petitioner. He submits that in the said case, a final report has already been submitted. 3. Sri Prem Narayan Rai, learned counsel for the respondents, submits that the petitioner has not given reply to show cause notice issued to him on 25.8.2025, which fact has not been disputed by learned counsel for the petitioner. 4. In view of the above, the petition is disposed of with liberty to the petitioner to respond to show cause notice dated 28.8.2025, along with supporting evidence and in which event, the respondent authority will process the application, taking into consideration the reply of the petitioner.
